In a world that can feel isolating, PeerUp offers a secure and continuous support system built on trusted and known relationships. Our solution provides a proactive, human-centered approach to mental wellness.
The idea for PeerUp came to the founder through his own mental health battles when he realized that isolation in the face of setbacks, whether personal or professional, can potentially be overcome through technology.
Why the name “PeerUp”? We aim to use technology for good… to promote human flourishing and foster interpersonal connections that lead to improved relationships, where known and trusted peer support can boost mental well-being.
A quick caveat, though: PeerUp is not a substitute for a mental health professional, and no user of PeerUp should expect it to function in the same capacity as a mental health professional.
Our vision is that PeerUp will become the platform (digital health app) of choice that utilizes a healthy, positive, known, and trusted peer network to aid those who may encounter mental health challenges during times of crisis, thereby fostering renewed, supportive, and positive relationships that increase a person’s mental health and well-being.

PeerUp is the first proactive, peer-supportive and peer-driven mental health platform for military veterans and their families and loved ones. There are offerings that provide instant or anonymous access to mental health professionals, and these are certainly helpful. What we have found, and believe, is that a network of known and trusted peers can be just as helpful to a person’s well-being as a mental health professional… with the benefit of a positive relationship that is committed to help you in time of need… and without the cost, stigma, or wait time associated with tracking down a mental health professional.
PeerUp is dedicated to providing the best technology available to help the individual veteran in time of need. We wrestled with whether to make PeerUp a non-profit, as it is a mission-driven company. Yet we did not want to develop and release a suboptimal product that was handcuffed by having to fundraise, seek donations, or otherwise operate within a non-profit framework. With our current offering, we believe we have reasonably priced PeerUp and, at its price point, will be affordable to practically everyone who needs it. The subscription model allows us to invest in R&D, continual support, and technology updates that will provide users with the best peer-driven mental health platform experience possible.
We completely understand your/your loved one’s need for peer support and the desire to address your/your loved one’s mental health. If you are worried about your/your loved one’s well-being and think that PeerUp can provide the help needed where others cannot, and price is a barrier, please contact us. We will review your situation and can discuss options for your/your loved one’s account that may help with the cost of using PeerUp.
It is important to understand that PeerUp may not be for everyone. PeerUp was created to bridge the gap, where mental health help is needed to boost well-being and mental health professionals may not be available for a number of reasons. Bear in mind that PeerUp is not a substitute for a mental health professional, and no user, whether Veteran, Veteran Family Member, or Trusted Peer, should expect PeerUp to function in the same capacity as a mental health professional. Rather, PeerUp provides a valuable connection when needed, to people whom the user knows and trusts; the Trusted Peers are never anonymous and agree to always act in the best interest of their Veteran or Veteran Family Member.
